What is the best time of year to visit Challis?

Challis is a year-round destination! Summer is great for river rafting, hiking, and events like Braun Brothers Reunion. Fall offers stunning foliage and hunting opportunities, while winter is perfect for snowmobiling and soaking in hot springs. Spring is ideal for wildlife viewing and fishing.

What is the weather like in Challis?

Mt Borah, according to some, is considered a challenging hike, whereas others refer to it as an easy walk.

The Salmon River and surrounding lakes (such as Bayhorse Lake and Mosquito Flat Reservoir) offer excellent fishing for trout, steelhead, and salmon.
