"Hi, I’m Laycee Cutler — a photographer and storyteller with a deep love for the wild, honest beauty of the American West.

For over a decade, I’ve traveled across Idaho and to surrounding areas with a camera in hand, capturing everything from the thunder and dust of rodeo arenas to the quiet, tear-filled vows exchanged under mountain skies. Whether I’m documenting a golden-hour wedding, a family, or the raw energy of a rodeo ride, my greatest joy is freezing real, heartfelt moments that people can feel for years to come.

As a wife of 13 years (almost 14) and mama to three energetic boys, I understand how fleeting these chapters of life can be. That personal perspective fuels everything I do — I show up with patience, warmth, and genuine care because I know these images will one day become treasured family heirlooms.

Lately, I’ve been expanding my craft by dabbling in videography and commercial work. It’s been such a thrilling new way to tell stories — sometimes through still frames, sometimes through motion — but always with the same focus on emotion, light, and authenticity.

At the end of the day, I believe the best photographs aren’t just beautiful — they’re honest. They capture the grit, the joy, the love, and the wild spirit of the lives we live here in Idaho.

Rooted in tradition and dedicated to community, Challis Masonic Lodge No. 92 has been a quiet but meaningful presence in our town for generations. As part of the long-standing brotherhood of Freemasonry, the Lodge is built on values of integrity, service, and fellowship.

Behind the scenes, members of Lodge 92 are committed to making a difference: supporting local causes, lending a hand where it’s needed, and helping strengthen the fabric of our community. Their work may not always be in the spotlight, but its impact is felt across Challis.

More than just a meeting place, the Lodge represents connection, tradition, and a shared commitment to bettering both individuals and the community as a whole.

Feature Friday: Challis Classy Chassis Car Club

The Challis Classy Chassis Car Club has become a proud tradition in our community — bringing together car enthusiasts, families, and visitors from near and far for a celebration of classic vehicles and small-town camaraderie.

The idea first took shape in 2004, when Jim Crockett, Warren Jenson, and Allen Getty began dreaming up a local car show. By 2005, that vision became reality with the official formation of the club, and a new community event was born.

Since then, the annual car show — held on the first Saturday in June — has grown from a small local gathering into a beloved regional tradition. One of the things that makes this event so special is its welcoming spirit. With no entry fee, anyone with a passion for cars can participate, helping the show grow year after year. Last year alone featured an impressive 89 registered vehicles!

Today, the event draws participants and spectators from all over, including visitors from Canada, California, and Wyoming. What started as a simple car show has become a destination event — showcasing not just incredible vehicles, but the strong sense of community that makes Challis so special.

A huge thank you to the founders, volunteers, and participants who continue to keep this tradition alive. We’re proud to have Challis Classy Chassis as part of our community!
