CHIPMUNK SKI HILL
For those who love a good winter adventure, Chipmunk Ski Hill is a local gem tucked in the mountains near Challis. Whether you’re an experienced skier or just looking to play in the snow, this small, community-run hill has something for everyone. It’s a perfect destination for families, with affordable lift tickets, beginner-friendly slopes, and plenty of space for sledding, snowboarding, or just building snowmen.
Though modest in size, Chipmunk Ski Hill provides fantastic views of the surrounding mountain ranges, and it’s often less crowded than larger resorts, giving you a peaceful, uncrowded experience. When the snow falls, the hill is groomed and ready for a day of fun, and in the off-season, it’s a great spot for hiking and enjoying the fresh mountain air.
From town, take Main Street all the way up until it turns into Garden Creek Road. Follow it for about 4 miles until it forks. Take the left fork another mile up, and you’ll find it up on the left.
